We know that attending a church service for the first time can be intimidating.  At Mt. Vernon, you can expect friendly and authentic people (about 200 people worship with us every Sunday) who love God and others, engaging and relevant music and worship, compelling preaching from the Bible, and an opportunity to encounter God. You will be encouraged and challenged to believe in and follow Jesus Christ.  

Here’s a quick run-down of what to expect, and where to go:

We are located at 839 Highway 15 South, just south of Laurel.   Some GPS get confused, so click HERE for a map!

When you arrive, you’re welcome to park in the Guest Parking Spots in the North Parking Lot, right in front of the courtyard and Sanctuary. 

We don’t have a dress code.  Our dress is mixed—some like to dress business casual, others dress up, some are casual. 

Greeters outside will point you in the right direction to the main doors.  Greeters and ushers at the doors will point you to KIDS and NURSERY areas and a seat in the Sanctuary.

We’re a traditional church with a current focus, so our worship music is a mix between old favorite hymns done with love and energy, and new and current songs.  All have the same theme:  The gospel of Jesus Christ.  Sing loud with us!

We don’t have a formal “greeting” time, but our people really are friendly and will gladly say hello!
